By virtue of the Companies Act (Shipping and Aviation Cell Companies) Regulations of 16th June 2020, the Malta legislator has extended the concept of cell companies to the business of shipping and aviation.

Last remaining COVID-19 restrictions applicable to Malta International Airport, partially lifted on July 1 to 25 countries, fully lifted on July 15, bringing normality to Malta's travel scene. A new fund aimed at providing assistance to Voluntary Organisations has been launched by the Government of Malta. The COVID-19 Voluntary Organisation Emergency Fund (COVID-VOEF) is aimed at assisting Voluntary Organisations faced with emergency situations arising as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
