Professional Experience

Gilbert is a certified public accountant and auditor who graduated in Bachelor of Accountancy in 2004. He has awarded the CPA warrant three years later in 2007. His professional career started at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC) for five years, during which he had the opportunity for overseas employment. This involved being part of a professional team who conducted the investigation of the Parmalat fraudulent scandal that arose in 2005, followed by a 6-month secondment to PWC Milan and a 3-month secondment to PWC Rome. At PWC, the client portfolio included major clients such as Europcar Italy, Eni Group, Tumas Group, Air Malta, Betsson, Farsons, Corinthia, Alf Mizzi & Sons, Enemalta, Malta Freeport, Mizzi Group, and SMS Group.
In May 2009 Gilbert joined the Foundation for Medical Services and after a brief placement at the Ministry for Health he was assigned the role of a Financial Controller for the Mental Health Services.  in June 2016, he returned to the private sector and joined Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates as Chief Finance Officer.
On a personal level, Gilbert is a very outgoing person, self motivated, considered as very rigorous, at times perfectionist, and take his roles in life very seriously. Gilbert believes that success in the professional career is only possible when having a strong family backing in every decision taken and role occupied. He firmly believes in a healthy lifestyle and to have a sufficient balance between reaching targets, work and leisure.
