According to reports from the Russian news agency Tass, Malta is to be removed from the Russian blacklist of offshore jurisdictions

The Russian Finance Ministry has prepared a decree to have Malta removed from the Russian blacklist, which includes some 41 offshore jurisdictions. This development follows the agreement between Malta and Russia on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion with regard to income tax, which entered into force on the 22nd May 2014, and will strengthen the confidence of investors from both jurisdictions to engage in cross-border business opportunities.
