Legal Notice 111 of 2013 has brought into place a new scheme whereby Maltese professionals established in a Field of Excellence, can benefit from a tax incentive. Those individuals who satisfy all the requirements established by the rules, are to be charged to tax at the flat rate of 15%, as opposed to the progressive rates of tax which can be as high as 35%.
