Today, our team at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates celebrated a rather special milestone in our history as a law firm. This year marks the 15th year anniversary since the firm was founded, thus, to commemorate this event, we invited Hon. Dr Joseph Muscat, Prime Minister of Malta, together with a representation of government officials, a number of our esteemed clients and collaborators and colleagues to our  Head Office in Valletta to commemorate fifteen successful years of legal service.

Founded in 2002, our law firm experienced rapid growth, being the first firm to practice a multi-disciplinary model combining legal, corporate services and tax.  Throughout our history and growth as we flourished into a firm with six office locations in Malta, and 4 offices internationally namely in London, Nicosia, Zurich and Hong Kong, our firm has been involved in projects which have had a positive and lasting impact on the life of our clients, local community (Maltese community) and on the Maltese economy. We have assisted a vast array of clients with various needs and attracted various types of foreign direct investment, ranging from a company pioneering the application of blockchain technology to the international educational sector, to Chinese state-owned Shanghai Electric Power in the largest FDI investment ever made in Malta amounting to over €300m.

“Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates’ success story and growth into an international firm runs in parallel with the growth experienced by the Maltese economy, particularly in the fields of financial services and more recently, Fintech, technology and online gaming, Pharma and more recently BiotechnologyEnergy and the Capital Markets.

Our perseverance, integrity and commercially oriented approach allowed us to get here today. In fifteen years, the firm has significantly increased in headcount and now vaunts a set up of over 170 lawyers, tax advisors, paralegals, accountants, company administrators and relocation advisors, as well as 5 offices around the globe. – stated Dr Jean Philippe Chetcuti, co-founder and Managing Partner of our firm.

He continued, “We appreciate that Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates couldn’t have been successful without the support of the society in which we operate. The firm has the community at heart and in fact Chetcuti Cauchi has undertaken public welfare activities for many years, and has brought warmth and hope to those who need help.

We have committed manpower, material resources, and established the “Claris Foundation”, which has been actively involved in supporting children in education and their wellbeing. Additionally, we sponsor a number of educational programmes, as well as projects for the Ursoline Sisters.”

While addressing the audience at the event, Hon. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat commended Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates as a true attestation of the Maltese entrepreneurial spirit and as “crucial ambassadors of Malta and what it offers.” While noting our noteworthy achievements as a law firm specializing in residency and citizenship law, the Prime Minister continued, “we know such services are the perfect gateway to put Malta on the global map and to attract the right investments, not just for today but also for tomorrow to be able to make Malta future-proof, success that we are benefitting from this year which is also thanks to the firm of Chetcuti Cauchi.”

From its inception, our firm has provided legal advice and counsel in traditional practice areas, but continues to adapt to the changing needs of its clients and that of the Maltese economy by adding new practices in areas such as blockchain technology and biotechnology.

“Chetcuti Cauchi is not your typical law firm.  We strive to know our clients, focus on their needs and provide legally-backed services that will help our clients move to the next level of their growth, whatever that may be.  We focus on being partners and trusted advisors rather than pure legal service providers and we believe that this focus forges the strong business relationships that we base our business proposition on. “said Colin German, CEO of Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates.

Our outlook for the future is positive. We promise to adhere to our well-established philosophy of pursuing excellence to serve our clients in the next 15 years.
