The Foundation for Human Resources Development

FHRD is a not for profit, non-governmental organizations and has an autonomous corporate body of non-commercial nature with a distinct legal personality. The foundation is capable to enter into contract, of acquiring, holding and disposing of property movable and immovable by any title.

The Foundation mainly operates on the Maltese Island and its main aim to raise the profile of the Human Resource Profession on the island, by assisting and supporting individuals and private/public entities in their human resource management and development practices. FHRD also operates with similar organizations aboard, in particular, organizations in the Mediterranean region. 
 
The foundation works in partnership with its highly regarded corporate members and individuals from private and public organizations. The foundation offers training programs to its members and in 2010 launched its first HR vocational training program, offering a new opportunity for local individuals who already have experience at the place of work and in particular HR experience to follow a competency based program specifically designed for the local environment. HRD is a member of the European Association of Personnel Management (EAPM) and the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA). FHRD is the first organization on the Maltese Islands to have achieved the Investors in People Standard.
