As the yachting industry in Malta continues to thrive and Malta continues to attract more high-quality boats, recent statements confirm that within a span of a year, Malta has hosted 300 super yachts in its marinas.

Described as a location with excellent connections to the rest of the world and with ever-improving facilities, Malta continues to regularly host high-profile boat owners who choose to spend days in Malta and later continue touring the Mediterranean or other parts of the world.

This news arrives as Malta has announced that it will provide additional temporary yacht berths at Ta’ Xbiex and Kalkara Creek to care for the ever-growing demand of the yachting industry.

Currently, Malta offers permanent marinas at Msida, Ta' Xbiex, Gozo, Portomaso, Manoel Island and the Grand Harbour catering for yachts from 16 metres to 100 metres in length. As a result of expansion of the yacht marina facilities in Malta, the number of berthing spaces has increased from 1,511 in 2009 to 1,904.

Plans are underway for the building of new yacht marina facilities in Sa’ Maison, which will provide 310 new berths.
