The Micro Guarantee Scheme is a new initiative being administered by Malta Enterprise, through which firms employing up to 20 people are now being offered guarantees to help them secure a loan from participating banks. These banks currently include Banif Bank, Bank of Valletta, HSBC Bank Malta and Lombard Bank.

The scheme provides eligible enterprises with the possibility of accessing loans of up to €100,000 which may be dedicated to endeavours relating to business enhancement, growth and development. Moreover, the Scheme does not require any form of security from the beneficiary in respect of the guarantee issued to the bank, the only exception being that the beneficiary may be required to secure up to 10% of the loan amount.

Applications for support under the Micro Guarantee Scheme are being accepted by Malta Enterprise until the 1st December, 2013.

Our Tendering & Funding Unit regularly assists clients in such funding applications. We urge you to contact us for any further information/clarifications on this new scheme.
