The Double Tax Agreement signed between Bahrain and Malta came into force on the 28th February 2012.

The Agreement was originally signed by Malta’s Finance Minister on the 12th April 2010 during a business delegation. It was ratified by Bahrain in December 2011 and has now also been ratified by Malta. The Agreement is largely based on the OECD Model Tax Convention and it will further support investment opportunities between Malta and the Persian Gulf States. Malta already has Double Tax Agreements in place with Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait.
