The expertise and experience of the MFSA’s trained personnel is an important contributing factor to the Authority’s good repute. The MFSA has recently added a new member to its staff. Mr Michael Duignan has been appointed as the new Director of the Securities and Markets Unit at the Malta Financial Services Authority with effect from 1st February, 2012. Mr Duignan is experienced in securities regulation and market supervision at the European level. He was previously Head of Securities and Exchanges Branch at HM Treasury, UK (1998-2000), Primary Markets Policy Manager (2000-2007) and Market Conduct Manager (2007-2008) at the Financial Services Authority UK and more recently Head of Market Supervision at the Irish Stock Exchange (2008-2011).
