Seven years after the establishment of a representative office for the firm in London, Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti, managing partner of Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates will be opening Chetcuti Cauchi's representative office in Zurich, Switzerland on the 15th of March, with Roger Breitenstein as head of office.

Launch Reception Programme

The launch will be addressed by the firm's managing partner, who will briefly address the invitees with an overview of the firm's history, values and its mission of being the first Malta-Cyprus law firm serving Swiss law firms, banks and advisers in Switzerland. During the reception, Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti will also give an overview of the Residency and Citizenship programmes offered by Chetcuti Cauchi, including the Malta Citizenship by Investment program, Cyprus Citizenship by Investment program, Malta Golden Visa Residency Program and Cyprus Permanent Residency.

First Malta-Cyprus Law Firm in Zurich

Roger Breitenstein has been appointed the head of the law firm's Zurich rep office. Mr Breitenstein is a specialist in international residency and citizenship planning, advising and assisting clients in relocating and obtaining alternative residence and citizenship. Roger graduated Master of Laws from the University of Lucerne and specialises in migration law as well as international tax law.

Malta-Cyprus Law Firm of Choice for Law Firms & Advisors in Switzerland

In its function as head of our Zurich office, Roger has trained in Maltese and Cypriot residency and citizenship law and is able to advise lawyers and client advisors on such matters.. His role in Zurich is to act as a first point of contact for Swiss law firms, banks, financial advisers and family offices wishing to work with a Maltese-Cypriot law firm closer to home.

Malta-Cyprus Residency & Citizenship practice

For over 15 years, Dr Chetcuti heads the firm's specialist Residency and Citizenship practice, which now spans the firm's Malta and Cyprus specialist immigration law teams. Through the firm's immigration experience, to date, the firm enjoys an outstanding success rate in citizenship and residency applications by applying thorough due diligence at the outset of a client engagement and by providing experience advice at pre-application stage as to the chances of success and legal avenues available to applicant.

The Malta Citizenship by Investment Program

Dr Chetcuti is a key player in the introduction and shaping of the Maltese Citizenship by Investment program and was the first to be licensed by the Identity Malta Agency to directly file citizenship by investment applications under the Individual Investor Programme, holding licence IIP-001. Dr Chetcuti has represented the first applicants to apply at the pilot phase of the Malta Individual Investor Programme, benefiting the firm's clients with the first Malta Citizenship approvals issued in November 2014.

He also advises on the Malta Global Residence Programme and buying property in Malta. Within his tax planning and wealth structuring function, he specialises in the use of Malta holding companies and Malta's Participation Exemption, Malta royalty companies, Malta trusts and Malta foundations and Malta Professional Investor Funds.

An international tax lawyer by training, Dr Chetcuti enjoys extensive experience in private client tax planning.
